About recap

DownWhy?
A rapidly ageing society means a rapidly growing need for healthcare, with greater efficiency. Telehealth is a key development in this respect. Project partners in this area are cooperating in the search for solutions to problems that hinder the introduction of new, smart ICT solutions. Problems of a financial, organisational and legal nature.

Recap regards the growing demand for Telehealth as an opportunity to get innovative solutions, such as services to diagnose, treat and monitor from a distance, to the market. The Telehealth sector in the partner regions comprises 145 companies employing some 115,000 people.

Objectives

The Recap project aims to:

+   promote business development by promoting the application of telehealth equipment and its market development;

+   create new European or international collaboration clusters and models for coordination and collaboration;

+   develop decision-making structures to be able to apply remote diagnosis and treatment effectively;

+   develop the structure and architecture of an transnational integrated care model with the use of a transnational health portal.

On the basis of regional Telehealth trends, three fields have been identified in which cooperation is crucial:

+   innovative tools

+   organisation

+   decision-making systems

Transnational cooperation
Recap is a transnational project that consist of thirteen collaborating partners from three regions in North West Europe.

The research and testing of innovations will take place in regional hubs, each of which will focus on one aspect where the necessary experience has already been gained. Linking the existing knowledge in the hubs and translating knowledge into building blocks that can be used to establish a Transnational Health Innovation Portal is the main result of Recap. It is essential to scale up the existing regional portals to a transnational level to be able to continue to facilitate the growing need. Only through clustering strengths can a high level of care be guaranteed in the future.
